Are applications linked to the geographical region in which they originate? Can providers only recruit from areas in which the provider partnership includes the local authority?
No. You are free to seek funding for provision offered in any region in England, regardless of the provider partnership’s or lead applicant’s physical location. The terms ‘region’, ‘regional’ or ‘local’, when used in the funding criteria, refer simply to the area in which the provision is to be offered. You can therefore recruit outside the boundaries of any partner local authorities (LAs). However, if you were seeking to recruit from an area in which similar provision is already offered (possibly through a separate provider partnership including the relevant LA), it might indicate that you have not adequately assessed need in that area.
