Many departments and program require the Graduate Record Exam. In addition, applicants who graduated from colleges or universities in other countries must demonstrate proficiency in English. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOFL) or the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) may be used to fulfill this requirement.
