Motor carriers operating vehicles exclusively in interstate commerce on the public highways in Missouri under a certificate or permit issued by FMCSA shall comply with the vehicle identification and marking requirements as published in Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, part 1058. Carriers operating vehicles in Missouri in both interstate commerce under FMCSA authority and intrastate commerce under a certificate or permit issued by this Agency may comply with FMCSA requirements only and are not required to add any special markings for Missouri. Vehicles used exclusively in the transportation of interstate exempt commodities shall display markings on both sides of each vehicle operated under its own power, which shall state the name or trade name of the motor carrier, and either the certificate or permit number assigned by this Agency or the carrier’s valid identifying number issued by the United States Department of Transportation.
