Are any smart tickets available for Paris to Venice overnight train on 10/5.2010?
I presume you mean May 10, 2010 as October is too far away (you can only make train reservations within 90 days of the current date). You can make reservations on the SNCF (French Rail) website at http://www.tgv-europe.com – if you do go there, under “Other countries” select “English”. When you search for a rail trip, it will insist that you enter the country that you are currently from. Do NOT enter USA as it will refer you to the Rail Europe website, which is more expensive. Instead, select either “Canada” or “Great Britain”, something like that, as these will allow you to book online. If you do make an online reservation, you can pick up your tickets at any major train station by going to a ticket window. When using the website, I recommend that you click on the “More criteria” for the route search, and select “direct trains”, so you will not be getting a stopover in Milan or something like that.
