Are any shots or vaccinations needed to visit the country of Panama?

This answer is NO for US and Canadian citizens traveling directly to Panama City. The Funky People Group will not travel to any areas in Panama that should raise major health concerns. If you’re from another country and will be connecting through the USA to enter Panama, or you plan to stay in very remote jungle areas of Panama (near the Colombian border) you may be required to get vaccinations to enter Panama. Panamanian vaccination requirements will only mostly affect non-US and Canadian citizens who travel extensively to Central America, South America, Africa and Asia. Specific countries in these world regions have high incidents of “Yellow Fever”. Panama City and its’ surrounding tourist areas are completely safe! However, you can consult your personal doctor for advice on any travel vaccinations you may need or opt to get. You can also refer to the website for the US Department of Health – Center for Disease Control here.
