Are anti-radiation pills safe for children?
YES. If you compare the risks of radioiodine exposure to the risks of taking Potassium Iodide (KI) pills, it is much safer to give KI than to risk later thyroid cancer. In fact, children are the most at risk to develop thyroid cancer as a result of exposure to radioiodine. KI is generally safe for short-term use. Pay close attention to administering the proper dosage, especially in babies and pregnant or lactating women.
