Are animal rights activist misguided when there is so much more human suffering in the world.?
I think everyone has their right to be passionate about something. And there is so much human suffering in the world, but we still buy into companies that contibute to the mistreatment of children and adults and that seems to be fine. Whether it is sweat shops, or not being allowed trade unions, or bullying tactics for workers and/or local business. There’s a few to pick from. I don’t think anyone is living perfectly and can judge others too much on this. There is lower life expectancy in the East End of Glasgow than there is in Iraq and there is so much human suffering in the world and there’s plenty on our own door steps. I’m not an animal rights activist, but I am active on other social issues and at least there’s people out there championing for all different groups, even if they are animals. Better that than being non active at all.
