Are alternate-item questions on NCLEX-RN considered to be of high or low difficulty?
Assuming that you passed, the way the test is set up is that you progressively answer harder and harder questions until the computer calculates that you have answered enough of the hard questions correctly. If you had these alt-item questions early on in the test, they were “easier” level questions than ones that appeared later in the test. It’s really very rare for people to fail at 75, you would essentially have to answer almost every question incorrectly- if you were just doing poorly or borderline poorly, the test would have gone on and asked you more questions until you definitely could not make a comeback and answer enough correctly. So if you are the slightest bit confident that you answered a decent number of questions (even the easy ones) correctly, you definitely passed. I too passed with 75 questions. Nobody ever feels confident that they passed, it’s totally normal. Good luck, I’m sure you did just fine!
