NANO “A promise is a promise and I am pleased to say the promise is kept today”. This is what Mr, Ratan Tata said on the Nano launch to 2,000-strong crowd at the Parsi Gymkhana lawns at south Mumbai. The Nano launch was a full stop to the pessimists, that even went to the extend of saying that the Nano will be 1Lakh without the engine. The Nano which after a troublesome 2008, which saw Mr, Ratan Tata closing his entire Nano factory in Singur,West Bangal and moving to a new site which was cross country to Gujarat. Nano is currently being manufactured at Pantanagar, Uttarakhand. This tiny car which has won millions of hearts not only in India but across the world has a engine of 623 CC, which belts out 33BHP is placed in the rear of the car, this type of positioning can also be seen in the Volkswagen Beetle, the first people’s car in Germany.
