Are all students required to complete the COMPASS assessment?

0

Students who have completed college-level courses (non-developmental) in English and/or math and have earned a grade of “C” need to complete only those sections of COMPASS not covered by the previous college credit. For example, a student who has earned a grade of “C” or higher in a college-level English course is required to take only the math portion of the COMPASS. Similarly, a student who has earned a grade of “C” or higher in a college-level math course is required to take only the reading and writing sections of COMPASS. Students with credit in both math and English courses are not required to take any section of COMPASS. TCTC strongly recommends that students enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) courses take the COMPASS assessment as AP scores are typically not received until late July.
