Are all repairs to malfunctioning septic systems very expensive?
A.The Vernon Township Health Department works with your licensed excavator to repair the septic system in the most cost effective manner. If the existing system is not failing because the water table or bedrock formation is too high, the stone in the bed or pit may be able to be removed and replaced. If this cannot be done, an engineer would have to be hired by you to test the soil and design an alteration to the system. The Vernon Township Health Dept. will work with your engineer to provide you with the most cost effective system.
