Are all of the individual quality measures within each clinical area weighted equally in an overall quality score?
In the LHRP, the measures are not weighted equally. The individual measures within each clinical area are weighted based on the evidence that a hospital’s performance in that specific clinical area will have an impact on mortality and morbidity (see http://www.leapfroggroup.org/for_hospitals/fh-incentives_and_rewards/hosp_rewards_prog for further details on the weighting methodology).
