Are all infrared cameras equal?

0

NO – do not be misled. Infrared cameras vary tremendously as far as their ability to detect temperature differentials. Similar to the mega-pixels on a digital camera; there are many levels of “resolution”. Consider the difference between the first generation of digital cameras. Many of them were only capable of less than 1 mega-pixel of resolution (image size). Many high-end digital cameras these days are capable of over 10 mega-pixel images. Compared to an infrared camera; lower end cameras have less resolution and cannot detect building defects like the high-resolution cameras that Building Diagnostics Group uses. Our cameras are capable of detecting temperatures of less than ½ degree F. which will allow us to detect even the slightest anomaly present.
