Are all hot water systems eligible to have a water efficient showerhead fitted?
Generally water efficient showerheads are not compatible with older instantaneous gas hot water systems because the showerhead’s reduced flow interferes with the water heater’s operation. The following types of hot water systems may also be incompatible with water efficient showerheads, as these systems already have an efficient low flow rate: • electric instantaneous • gravity fed, and • open vented.
