Are all donated organs and tissues used?
Organs and tissue must be in good condition and working well before they can be transplanted into another person. After a person dies, medical checks and tests are done to see if the person is medically suitable. Sometimes donation is not possible (for example, the person may have had an undiagnosed illness or their organs may be medically unsuitable for transplantation.
