Are ALL channels freely available for watching? What is encryption?
Not all channels are available for home viewing. Channels that are not “in-the-clear” are encrypted. Encryption, often referred to as scrambling, keeps viewers that are not intended to view a particular channel from viewing it. The most common use of encryption is to keep non-paying viewers from accessing subscription or pay per view programming. Encryption will be discussed in more detail later in this FAQ.
