Are AETs the same as Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs)?
While they are similar, AETs are not the same as APTs. Advanced Persistent Threats include many intelligence gathering techniques and technologies, and are typically not opportunistic. Advanced Evasion Techniques are a focused area to specifically deliver malicious payload to a vulnerable system without detection. In other words, AETs can assist in an overall Advanced Persistent Threat, but AETs do not themselves include social engineering and other non-technical aspects.
