Are actual laptops planned, or the smaller netbooks?
Netbooks lack power, service, adaptability, and will teach poor typing skills with the cramped keyboards.The Orient-Macksburg Community School District calls for a laptop for every student in Grades 9-12, a laptop for every certified teacher, and mobile carts of laptops for the middle school. Other technology is included in the complete package. Question: Why every student? My children have access to multiple computers in my home already. Why have the school use tax dollars to buy them another to use. Answer: Students will be expected to use school laptops at school. The school laptops will have all of the software and applications the students need to successfully complete their school work. Students would have compatibility issues and the district would have virus control issues if students were allowed to use their personal computers.
