Are active employees on extended travel or that live in another state covered?
Active employees of enrolled groups located in Arkansas that are on extended travel or that live outside the state of Arkansas for more than 90 consecutive days may be eligible for an out-of-area classification. If approved by the employee’s group administrator and Health Advantage, the employee and family members use their Health Advantage ID card to access services covered by Health Advantage. Claims are billed with the XCH prefix and the member’s ID number through the local health plan and routed electronically to Health Advantage. If approved for payment, out-of-pocket expenses are limited to the copayment and/or coinsurance when covered services are received from a Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield provider listed in the BlueCard Traditional Network. You may be responsible for the difference between the billed charges and allowable charges for services provided by nonparticipating BlueCard providers.
