Are ABRSM exams harder than Trinity?

0

I’m doing Grade 8 Piano with Trinity, and Grade 5 Violin with ABRSM. Somebody in my class says that Trinity Exams are easier, and then she asked the best pianist in the school who does ABRSM, and she said that G8 Trinity is the equivalent of G6 ABRSM. I find that quite hard to believe because my violin exams were very easy – I passed my G4 after only 3/4 of a year of lessons and was 3 marks off a merit. I’m not sure if this is because it is an easier instrument, or if it was because I knew how to sight-read etc. I’d just like to know the truth, because on here it says that Trinity is harder. The facts for G8 Piano: For trinity: 3 pieces, 3 exercises (one with octaves, one with triplets/quavers, one with different voices), sight reading g8 standard, aurals (significant features of piece, such as style, rhythm, texture, dynamics, phrasing and articulation. 2. A printed copy of the entire piece will be handed to the candidate and played by the examiner, who will then play twice a version
