Are Ablestik products thermosets or thermoplastics?
Most Ablestik products are thermoset adhesives. They undergo irreversible chemical reactions to form a polymer-network structure. Most curing or polymerization is initiated by heat, however some products may be cured at room temperature. Some products can be cured by UV or blue-visible light. Ablestik provides some paste and film products that are thermoplastic adhesives, which do not cross-link. Heat alone or both heat and pressure are required to apply these materials. Thermoplastic films can be reflowed at higher temperatures.
