Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are the only living Beatles. The Beatles never really owned there early music outright. It was owned by the record company. In the 80’s Micheal Jackson told Paul McCartney that he would assist in purchasing over 250 song in the Beatles catalog and then return the rights to Paul and John. Well Michael reniged on the offer and never returned the rights to Paul and John. For years Beatles songs could not be played without the permission of Sony Music and Micheal Jackson.
