April fools day – are we going to have a hoax from our Evolution friends today to deceive us yet again?
You’ve got to understand that the number of hoaxes is severely constrained by the number of pseudofossils that can be artistically created in authentic rocks and then carefully placed in sediments 150 million years old in such a way that they appear to be integrated parts of the surrounding rock strata. And then, international teams of scientists must be organized to travel to remote sites in China, find the pseudofossils, and prepare them for study. And later, more scientist hoaxers must be found to analyze the fossils and write a manuscript for publication in a scientific journal. Finally, still other scientist hoaxers must be found to review and comment on the manuscript before it is published. All of this hoaxing is very time consuming, not to mention expensive. Since scientists can’t always be counted upon to go along with a hoax voluntarily, great sums of money must be found to buy off the unreliable ones.
