Michael Hayden, UBC professor of Medical Genetics and director of the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics, joins Prof. Gert-Jan van Ommen, the president of the Human Genome Organization, Prof. Lap-Chee Tsui, head of the Genetics and Genomic Biology Research Program at the University of Toronto and Francis Collins, the director of the National Human Genome Research Institute to discuss the next steps in this international project to sequence all human genes. April 15: John Stackhouse, The End of Development The Globe and Mail’s award-winning correspondent, Stackhouse lived on the streets as part of his research for a recent feature on the homeless in Canada. Formerly a development issues reporter based in New Delhi, Stackhouse’s first book, Out of Poverty and into Something more Comfortable, will be published in April.
