A. All applications where Complete Specifications have been filed (except which are prejudicial to the defence of India or are abandoned within 15 months from the date of filing of the application) are ordinarily published in the Official Gazette after 18 months from the date of filing in India or the priority date whichever is earlier. However, request for early publication can be made to the Controller. An application for patent will be examined only after a request is made to the Controller within 48 months from the date of filing of the application or the priority date, whichever is earlier.
