Apples snails are not asexual. They need a male and female to reproduce. Also, depending on the exact species, some will lay egg clutches above the water line and others below the water line. I will link you to a website to explain more about it. Just be warned that if you have a mated pair, you will end up with a lot of babies. And I do mean a lot. I’d gotten two “golden” apple snails and one day when I needed to take water from their tank, I didn’t fill it back up to the top. The next day I had a clutch of eggs above the waterline. Then eventually I had five clutches (all within a month of each other). I actually found two more last night in the lighting part of the hood. I had to take them out and put them in a bag to throw away. Each clutch can have anywhere from 1 to 600 baby snails. Just think about how many that would be if you got 600 baby snails from 3 clutches.
