Anyone have a hematoma after surgery- how long did it take to heal? I had a c-section 3 weeks ago and have?
My son had a huge hematoma around his incision. His was from getting a plate put on his femur. His incision kept bleeding, and wasn’t healing. After 3 weeks and no improvement he had to go up to the hospital & meet with an Orthopedic Surgeon. The Dr. took his leg and squeezed the crap put of it. (Thought my son was going to take a swing at him) The blood was squirting out all over the floor. He then bandaged his thigh, put him on antibiodics, and told him to come back up the hospital the next morning. He told my son if it was still bleeding, that he would have to open his leg up and see what was happening inside. He thinks a blood vessel had been cut during the original surgery. Luckily for him, the bleeding had slowed down, so no more surgery. Finally after about 3 days the bleeding had completely stopped. I know he had to keep the stitches and staples in for another few weeks where the bleeding was. His incision was from up over his hip bone down to his knee, and it was just the top
