Anyone go to court to contest a speeding ticket before? Im in NJ?
First of all, this is NOT legal advice. This is me opening the door to legitimate resources for ticket fighting; I only wish to shed some light on the situation. With that, I give you: Fighting the first one is a MUST. Weather you settle with the District Attorney or win it all together, avoiding a speeding ticket on your record will make the next one that much easier to fight. I have, unfortunately, paid into the ticket system before by not fighting it, and I have regretted it ever since. The second time I tried to fight it to the point of settlement, but that just cost me more money in gas, time, and effort. The key, which I did not know at the time, is not to admit anything to the cop, and also gather alot of information from the scene (weather conditions, time, lighting, the license plate number of the cop, the radar serial number….ect ect.
