The spaceship shadow will come in handy when aiming. You’re going to need to run up ahead of the ship and get in its path. When the shadow draws near and is about a square away then fire. Obviously you will have better chances with a golden or silver slingshot (three projectiles and two projectiles respectively), but it is certainly do-able with a regular slingshot.
