Bingo! Check out the Outstanding Scholar Program. It allows federal agencies to cut through lots of red tape and hire beginning professionals at Grade 5 and 7 ($23,000 to $28,000 to start) levels. You need to have a 3.45 grade point average, or be in the upper 10 percent of your class. School transcripts must accompany applications. Also, consider taking a temporary job (much easier to get) to get a foot in the federal door.
