Any good tips on using foot targets?
This morning (6:00am GMT), I had my char doing the full splits and bending and stretching like a good one, very pleased with the results so thanks again. I thought I’d share what I’ve done so that people can a) learn from it or b) correct me! In accordance to one of Jeff Lew’s earlier posts, I have the Pelvis as a child of another bone (cunningly called Patriarch) to translate the whole model and roll it with no problem. Under Patriarch, on the same level as Pelvis, I have the two foot target bones (I haven’t tried it with null objects yet and Aim At ‘Null’, anyone?). Benefit of this is when you move the Patriarch, the foot targets move as well. I also placed the foot targets right on the deck (i.e. y=0). The foot has an ‘Orient Like’ foot target constraint and a Spherical Limit constraint, and the calf has a ‘Kinematic Chain’ constraint to foot target. So when you’re in Action, you just grab the foot target, drag it and watch the foot follow (think that’s right, let me know if it ain’
