ANSI standards 1) Does SpectraLOCK™ meet ANSI A118.3?
SpectraLOCK™ is by definition NOT 100% solids epoxy so it CANNOT be claimed to comply with ANSI A118.3, despite the fact that it exceeds nearly all of the performance requirements of ANSI A118.3. The standards are all built around OLD TECHNOLOGY which have not caught up with SpectraLOCK™ and won’t for some time! We either have to create new standards or we have to understand what the limitations are on the product not from the perspective of performance, but rather of strict compliance to standards. 2) How does LATICRETE stain test SpectraLOCK™? All LATICRETE products are put through rigorous testing before they are released into the market to ensure the performance is of the highest quality and to specification. In terms of grout, we follow similar stain testing norms utilized by 3M to validate stain resistance.
