Amending my 2008 Tax Return, filed wrong year?

Some accident. How could you not notice the paperwork said 2008 or that online filing is CURRENT year only. You take a 1040x. You load column A with the data on the 2008 form. You then fill in column C with the correct data. Use zero if you made zero income. In that case, you repay the ENTIRE refund. Send the check back with the 1040X. You need the money out of your hands by 4/15. You then file the 2007 return using the 2007 paperwork and file it.

If you didn’t recieve the stimulus from last year and you are eligible this year, that is probably why there was an extra $300.(i.e. if you hadn’t filed a return for 2007) On the 1040X I would just put the correct income instead of last years. I hope that helps…
