am Late Licence for Hollydale Tavern?

0

The Hollydale Tavern, on the corner of Hollydale Rd and Brayards Rd, has applied for a late license which would allow it to stay open till 12.30am Sunday – Wednesdays and 2am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. They also want to be able to play live and recorded music till 1am. A number of Hollydale Rd residents have contacted me to raise their concerns about this proposal. They are worried that the late licence will lead to increased noise and disturbance late at night and an increased likelihood of anti-social behaviour, particularly as customers leave the premises in the early hours. I agree with them. I do think late night pubs have their place, but this is a residential area not a town centre and it isn’t fair on local families for what is a relatively quiet local pub to turn into a late night venue. The council is consulting on the application till 25 August and the decision is expected on 11 September. You can see the details and let the council know your views here.
