For you to be involved in a shared care program there needs to be an agreement between yourself and the hospital/doctor that is going to provide the intrapartum care so that there is an agreement as to how the antenatal care is to be provided. It is expected that hospitals/ intrapartum care givers will assess those people who wish to be involved in a shared care program and determine if they are suitable and indicate the criteria that are involved in being re-credentialled. Guidelines are available from the JCCO Secretariat at the RACGP.
