Am I required to complete any training or courses on responsible gambling before I apply for a gaming industry employee’s licence?
No, if you are employed by a venue operator and working in the gaming machine area of an approved venue, your employer cannot allow you to perform the functions of a gaming industry employee unless you have either already completed a training course approved by the VCGR or you do so within 6 months of commencing work in the gaming machine area. However, gaming industry employees who are employed by a gaming operator or another third party and perform work in the gaming machine area of an approved venue are not required to complete the training course.
