You are not weird at all. I have been afraid of death since I was very young. Yes, you are experiencing panic attacks. See a doctor, talk to him/her and perhaps therapy will help instead of taking medication. But if medication is prescribed, try it. You lose control of your thoughts, your heartrate increases to a pounding feeling in your chest, you sweat, shake and feel like you are going crazy. You need to try and find out why you are afraid of dying. I never could figure it out myself but I can certainly relate. My mother’s reaction was always the same, “Oh you are so sensitive and emotional – grow up.” That really helped my fear increase. Talk to a counselor at school or maybe your pastor if you attend church. If you can’t talk to your parents perhaps you have a good friend whose parents will listen. Good luck.
