Am I entitled to any benefits while i am unemployed?
If you sign on as unemployed you need to show that you are actively seeking work. If you have not formally resigned from your current job then they will not pay you anything as they will assume you are returning. It all depends too on your personal circs – are you married or living with a partner, do they work, did you pay national insurance contributions and in which year. Do you have any other income. Are you fit for work or would you be claiming sickness benefit. Not possible to give you a clear answer – you need to talk to someone in Jobcentre Plus and get advice based on your own circumstances.
