Am i entitled to an eye test paid for by my employer?
Check out the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) website, they specify the legal requirement for employers, and it states that: “The Regulations apply where staff habitually use VDUs as a significant part of their normal work. Other people, who use VDUs only occasionally, are not covered by the requirements in the Regulations …” “On request arrange eye tests, and provide spectacles if special ones are needed Employees covered by the Regulations can ask their employer to provide and pay for an eye and eyesight test.” Many employers are either not aware of this obligation or conveniently disregard it, but you should be able to provide them with a copy of the regulations – the link is given for you below.
