Am I eligible for amnesty if I have an open appeal for tax reporting periods beginning prior to January 1, 2003?
Yes. Unpaid amounts from reporting periods prior to January 1, 2003 are eligible for amnesty even when you have received a notice of determination or petitioned that determination. If you fail to participate in the tax amnesty program, you will be subject to substantial new penalties (See question #12).
