Am I eligable for housing benefit?

0

its completely down to your local housing authority not the benefits agency like some think. they will have a maximum amount that you can have coming in to be eligble for housing benefit. unfortunately they take your gross wage as your income not your net income and they do not take into consideration what you have to pay out of it. I applied for it because my husband works 50 hours a week, and it bringing home 286.00, it cost 288.00 to run our house, everything is paid but we have no money left for anything else. the council said we were getting 2.76 too much to qualify for benefit, it worked out he would have to lose 15 hours a week to drop below what it wouldve needed for use to get benefit of 26.27 a week. because he wasnt allowed to work more than 35 hours …
