While Krstic has been a decent player in his first NBA season, he hasn’t shown any signs that he will be a superstar next year. He also doesn’t look like the kind of player who will fill multiple categories, which is generally the type of player you look to retain. Smith is a different story. He fills a number of categories, and has been playing great lately. Over his last five, he has 15.4 pts, 9.8 reb, 0.6 3PM and 2.4 blk.
