Am I a dairy holding if I agist dairy cattle on my beef property?

In most cases, no, because you are not keeping the cattle to produce commercial dairy products. However, if the agisted cattle are dairy heifers being grown out for the owner of a milking herd and they are run with your beef herd, your beef enterprise will be considered a dairy holding and you will have to provide a Dairy BJD Assurance Score Declaration Form whenever you sell or move your cattle. It is recommended that you keep any agisted dairy cattle segregated from your beef cattle so that your beef herd is not considered part of a dairy holding. Consider the Dairy BJD Assurance Score of the cattle you are agisting and only take low risk cattle on agistment (see below).
