Answer Hi Gregory, The quick answer is that, in general, yes you can use just about any adapter from any manufacturer with any wireless router from any other manufacturer. In a wireless network, you can purchase any brand router with any brand wireless adapter, you don’t need to purchase from the same manufacturer, they all work together. However, there are small differences and you still need to check your specs. When purchasing the only difference is wether you get 11Mbps, 54Mbps OR MORE speeds. What this means is that when purchasing a wireless router and/or card, the only thing to look for is the “B”, “G” or “N”. The “B” means it runs at 11Mbps and the “G” at 54Mbps and so on. For simple Internet access it means absolutely nothing but if you plan in the future to transfer files from one computer to the other, it means 11 vs 54 vs etc…(regular wired cards run at 100Mbps and 1000Mbps).
