Answer I do not think there would be a difference with either breed in regards to the cat. The best thing is to make sure that the cat has a “safe” room to retreat to…baby gate a room so the cat can jump over and get into the room, but the dog can not. Also, keep the dog leashed or crated during introductions so the cat feels safe and can explore. The puppy will want to interact right away with the cat but the cat will be territorial and afraid. Cats take a long time to adapt to changes in their environment so be patient and do the introduction slowly. Reward calm and pleasant interactions.
