Answer Hi Joe, It is acceptable to pray to Mary as an intercessor, but not as a goddess. She is to be honored, but not worshipped. Prayer in itself is not a form of worship. True worship involves many elements, but is not exclusive of any of them, such as prayer and sacrifice.
