Answer Dear Jennifer, If you have not TRULY felt the baby move in 24 hours, I would suggest going in to your doctor or birthing center for evaluation. You can try eating a meal and/or drinking a glass of orange juice or something else with sugar and lay down and be still. At that point, you can/should be able to feel your baby move within about 30 minutes. If you don’t – I would definitely want you to be seen. Any time you feel lower abdominal or pelvic pressure this late in pregnancy, it may be a sign of labor starting. You should not sit on the toilet and strain to go – just in case. 🙂 Generally, with your symptoms, I would suggest being seen. If there is nothing going on, then fine – at least you’ll know.
