Alright then, whats a Flame?
} Definitions abound. Vaguely, it is a post which causes some form of consternation in it’s target. This can be shame, rage, confusion, apprehension, or any other uncomfortable emotion, but ideally encompasses a variety of them. *Flaming should not be confused with Trolling, which will be explained later. *In it’s most basic form, there is name-calling and general questioning of the target’s mentality/perception/etc. This is fun, but can get boring if practiced exclusively. *In more advanced forms a target may be shown to be foolish by using their own previous statements, or by simply out-thinking them. IOW, don’t try to debate grammar with an English teacher, unless you want to look like a moron. Know when not to throw the gauntlet. *The best Flames use some kind of humor; usually sarcasm, irony, or parody (but in no way restricted to these three). *In short, though, no hard-and-fast definition of “a Flame” is known to us at this time.
