All accommodations listed in the Guidelines for Inclusion are permissible for students. Why are “non-standard” accommodations included?
Districts must allow the appropriate use of non-standard accommodations and should provide training to their staff on how to identify students who should and should not have such accommodations. Non-standard accommodations carry specific implications for school and district AYP calculations; therefore, they are grouped separately under the accommodations.
