AIM Pages Closely Linked to AIM, Is MySpace Scared?
From a social networking perspective, the biggest change is tight integration with AIM Pages, AOL’s new social network. You now have one-click access to your AIM Pages profile and a “Buddy Update Indicator” that tells you when one of your buddies has updated his page. More significantly, every AIM user now has an AIM Pages profile, whether they like it or not. Just like MySpace’s 100 million users, and YouTube’s 100 million videos served per day, AIM Pages will now be able to claim millions of accounts – more than 50 million last time I counted. You can launch this unrequested AIM Page straight from the IM window, and it will be automatically populated with any information you’ve put in your Buddy Info page, how long you’ve spent online with AIM, your away message, how long you’ve been an AOL/AIM user and more.
